Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology
The Japan Agency for Marine-Earth science and Technology (JAMSTEC: Yasuhiro Kato, President) will be holding an open house of the Yokohama Institute for Earth Sciences as described below. The annual event is designed to raise public interest in earth sciences and the ocean, while introducing research activities operated by JAMTEC.
Open house features talks on topics about climate change, deep-sea organisms and the Nankai Trough ocean drilling project, as well as a science café, scientific demonstrations, quizzes and many other activities. These components are designed to allow visitors of all ages to explore the wonders of the ocean and Earth.
