Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India visits JAMSTEC

On December 15, 2023, H.E. Mr. Sibi George, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India, and his delegation visited the Yokosuka Headquarters of Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC).

At the beginning of the meeting, President Yamato extended his welcome remarks to H.E. Mr. Sibi George and expressed his appreciation for India's cooperation in JAMSTEC's activities, including the contributions of Indian researchers at JAMSTEC.

H.E. Mr. Sibi George attended a briefing at our organization, about our activities including the Arctic Research Vessel currently under construction, International Ocean Drilling Programme-3 (IODP-cubed), and research collaborations between JAMSTEC and Indian organizations. He also visited the research vessel KAIMEI at anchor, and an unmanned research vehicle (ROV).
