International workshop

(June 5 -7, 2006, at Kochi Institute for Core Sample Research)

   We hosted an international workshop titled “Climate-Tectonic Drilling Studies in Southeast Asia”. The workshop brought together about 40 researchers from various parts of the world, including the United States, Germany, France, China, South Korea and Vietnam. Focusing on the relationship between the uplift of the Tibetan Himalaya and the Asian monsoon, the presentation of papers and discussion took place from the viewpoint of paleoceanography and marine science.
