サンゴ礁における鳴音を用いた生物分布観測とサウンドスケープの季節変化.
This article introduces the basic concept of marine soundscape and the potential application of using soundscapes in the biodiversity monitoring of coral reefs. For example, we can tow a hydrophone to mapping the spatial variation of biological activities. We can also deploy an autonomous sound recorder to capture the temporal changing patterns of biological choruses. With the recently emerging techniques of machine learning, the difficulty of analyzing audio data will be significantly reduced. We expect the implementation of soundscape monitoring will greatly facilitate the visualization of marine ecosystem dynamics in the future.
